SESSION TYPES
Sessions on offer include 1:1 counselling for individuals, couples counselling or clinical supervision.
I am qualified in Person-Centred Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Additionally, I am currently working towards certification in Imago Relationship Therapy (made prolific by the New York Times bestselling book "Getting the Love You Want - A Guide for Couples"), having completed the foundation training.
I am offering a discounted rate for couples therapy sessions, which will follow an Imago therapy structure, until I have completed further advanced training.
I also have a certificate in clinical supervision and can offer supervision to counsellors who are trained in the same modalities as myself.
COUNSELLING
Counselling involves protecting time to speak confidentially with a trained therapist to help deal with emotional issues.
Counselling can support a range of issues, including conditions such as depression, anxiety or stress related illness.
It may also help with managing a health condition, or processing the news of a diagnosis.
A challenging life event such as a bereavement, other loss or work-related situation may bring someone to counselling to find resolution, acceptance or a different way of responding.
Counselling may be beneficial when exploring an area of your life such as sexual orientation or gender identity.
Dealing with issues such as anger, low self-esteem or low assertiveness can be supported in counselling.
At its heart, counselling is about working towards therapeutic change. This journey is unique to each client. Counselling provides a safe, non-judgemental space that prizes the client as the unique individual in the process.
